Model guideWhy choose Topaz Generative Fast
Key strengths
- Roughly half the cost of the Generative tier with the same overall treatment.
- Accepts clips twice as long.
- Fast enough to preview a generative pass before committing to one.
Good fit for
- Previewing generative restoration before running the slower tier.
- Longer clips where the full Generative tier would be impractical.
- Batch work where cost matters more than the last increment of quality.
EnginesEngines in Topaz Generative Fast
This model is a price tier: every engine below costs the same, so the choice is about the source, not the budget. Pick one in Generate under the model; leaving it unset uses the first.
- Starlight Fast 2 - Topaz's fast diffusion pass - roughly half the vendor cost of the Generative tier, for longer clips or when turnaround beats maximum quality.
Supported on MachGenInputs and output settings
Upscaling is live in Models, Generate, and on a completed generation's TaskCard.
| Mode | Required input | Available settings |

Best resultsHow to get better Topaz Generative Fast results
- Use it to choose a treatment, then re-run hero shots on the Generative tier.
- Detail is still synthesized - verify faces and text against the source.
LimitsLimits and availability
- Choose a target above the source resolution: 1080p, 2K, 4K.
- Maximum source length is 120 seconds.
- Any frame rate is accepted. Billing is per delivered frame, so a 60 FPS source costs twice a 30 FPS one of the same length.
- Direct uploads are limited to 256 MiB; generated MachGen videos can be selected from Assets or a completed TaskCard.
- Current rates come from the live MachGen pricebook.
- Topaz Generative Fast is pass-through. MachGen sends the request through its upstream provider integration and returns the generated asset.
